Motion
SECTION 1
1.1 WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Council passed the Policy on Faculty-Student Engagement in UO Courses on February 20, 2015; and
1.2 WHEREAS, on March 11, 2015 this policy was included in the Winter 2015 UOCC Final Curriculum Report and the Senate approved this policy; and
1.3 WHEREAS, on May 7, 2015, many Faculty raised concerns to the Undergraduate Council about the application of this policy to the entire curriculum and the discussion led to the motion; and
1.4 WHEREAS, on May 14, 2015 the Academic Council discussed these concerns and the motion;
SECTION 2
2.1 BE IT HEREBY MOVED that the Policy on Faculty-Student Engagement as approved by the Senate on March 11, 2015, revert to policies used prior to the Policy on Faculty-Student Engagement in UO Courses while these policies undergo review by the appropriate Senate committees (Academic Council; Committee on Courses; Graduate Council; Undergraduate Council).
