Section I

1.1 WHEREAS, the University has no clear policies in place to regulate the application of courses to more than one program to guide the efforts of faculty as they develop programs and courses or to guide students as they plan their course of study; and

1.2 WHEREAS, student demand for cross-disciplinary combinations of majors and minors is increasing; and

1.3 WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Council has developed the following policy to regulate the application of courses to more than one program;

2.1 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED, the University Senate approves of the attached Major/Minor/Certificate/Program Course Overlap Policy.
