Section I

1.1 WHEREAS the university senate's interaction with the Study Abroad Programs Committee consists of minimal interaction on an annual basis, consisting primarily of appointing new members and collecting an annual report (which is rarely read or acted upon in a substantive way); and 

1.2 WHEREAS in practice this committee has effectively functioned as an administrative committee rather than a senate committee for several years;

2.1 THEREFORE IT BE MOVED that the University Senate approves the transition of the Study Abroad Programs Committee into an administrative committee to be overseen by the Global Education Oregon office.
