Section I 

1.1 WHEREAS The Committee on Committees (COC) holds the primary responsibility for the oversight and appointments for the University of Oregon Senate; and

1.2  WHEREAS the COC also has authority to appoint members to Senate Committees that are essential to shared governance at the University of Oregon; and

1.3  WHEREAS the COC wishes to provide clarity about its essential roles related to both oversight and shared governance by changing its name to a more appropriate description of its work.

Section II 

2.1  BE IT THEREFORE MOVED that the University Senate approves the change of the name of the current Committee on Committees to the Committee on Oversight and Shared Governance; and 

2.2 BE IT FURTHER MOVED that this change will amend the UO Senate Bylaws, sections 3.7.2.5, 4.2.1., 4.3, 5.4, 7.2.1, and 7.2.2.
