Section I

1.1  WHEREAS the current deadline for students to change a grade option is the end of week 7 each term.

1.2  WHEREAS it can benefit student success for students to have more time and information to inform their grade option

1.3  WHEREAS there is already a limit on how many credits students can opt to take P/N in that 168 credits of a BA or BS have to be graded

1.4  WHEREAS that current deadline does not allow students to take advantage of the opportunity to change their grade option in the most beneficial timeline.

1.5  WHEREAS the grade window for faculty to input grades is currently opened on Thursday of Week 10, and students cannot change their grade option when the grade window is open

Section II

2.1 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED that the University Senate approves a revision to the grade option change policy to extend the deadline for a change to the last Friday of Week 10 at 5 PM each term as published in the University of Oregon Academic Calendar.

2.2  THEREFORE IT BE MOVED that instructors will now be able to start inputting grades for students beginning 8 AM the Monday of finals week each term as published in the University of Oregon Academic Calendar.
