Motion

Section I

1.1  WHEREAS the University of Oregon makes reasonable accommodations when an exemption to existing university policy is deemed appropriate due to sincerely held religious beliefs; and 

1.2  WHEREAS each religious accommodation request is assessed on an individual basis, and the procedures should be consistent for the benefit of students and faculty; and

1.3. WHEREAS the current system of evaluating and granting requests is inefficient and leads to inequitable application of policy.

Section II

2.1  THEREFORE BE IT MOVED that a new set of procedures to handle requests for religious accommodations by students be established as outlined in the related document.
