UO Senate Bylaws - Revisions to Clarify Emergency Meetings, Terms, & role of Senate VP

Section I

1.1 WHEREAS the UO Senate recently wanted to hold meetings during summer 2026; and

1.2 WHEREAS the UO Senate Bylaws do not provide rules or guidance for emergency meetings or meetings to be held outside of the regular academic year; and 

1.3 WHEREAS the above brought into question when senator terms officially begin and end; and

1.4 WHEREAS questions were raised regarding whether and how the UO Senate VP might step in for the UO Senate President should they be temporarily unavailable; 

Section II

2.1 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED that the University Senate approves the clarifications to the UO Senate Bylaws as outlined in the related document.
