Motion
Section I
1.1 WHEREAS It is crucial that the Academic Modification Advisory Committee has sufficient representation to provide each school and college the opportunity to provide feedback when a significant academic change is proposed; and
1.2 WHEREAS during the summer of 2026, it has become apparent that the AMAC membership should change to ensure confidence in the ongoing budget reduction conversation
Section II
2.1. THEREFORE BE IT MOVE THAT Section 3.2 of the legislation created by motion US25/25-15 should be changed to read as follows:
The membership of this group shall consist of 9 14 elected, or in the case of students, appointed members of the University of Oregon Senate.
2.2 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED THAT Section 3.3.1 of the legislation created by motion US25/25-15 should be changed to read as follows:
Six Eleven statutory faculty members elected to the University of Oregon Senate, at least three of which must be from the College of Arts and Sciences, and at least three one statutory faculty members shall represent aeach professional school and college, one member representing the Clark Honors College and one member representing the UO Libraries.
2.3 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED a new section 3.4 shall be created in the legislation created by motion US25/26-15 that shall read:
If the University of Oregon Senate approves a new school or college, that academic unit will be represented on AMAC by one statutory faculty member, and section 3.2 shall be automatically updated to add to the total number of members by one for each new academic unit.
2.4 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED that the University Senate approves the addition of the following members for the revised committee membership:
- Jessica Cronce, College of Education
- Bryce Newell, School of Journalism & Communication
- Miriam Rigby, UO Libraries
- Michael Tomcal, Lundquist College of Business
- Barbara Mossberg, Clark Honors College
2.5 THEREFORE BE IT MOVED that these changes shall go into effect immediately upon passage by the UO Senate and approval by the President.
