Each year, students are appointed to a variety of University Committees to assist in the shared governance of the university. Students, both graduate and undergraduate, serve on a variety of committees listed below. To apply for ASUO appointed or nominated positions, apply through this survey.

Academic Requirements Committee

  • 3 positions: undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Nominated by ASUO, appointed by Committee on Committees. Junior or senior standing preferred. Reviews confidential materials.

Campus Planning Committee

  • 5 positions: undergraduate or graduate
  • Term: 2 - 4 years
  • Details:
    • Appointed by the UO President.

Career Faculty Committee

  • 2 positions: one graduate and one undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Appointed by the UO President.

Committee on Courses

  • 2 positions: one graduate and one undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Nominated by ASUO, appointed by Committee on Committees

Committee on Scholarships

  • 2 positions: undergraduate or graduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Nominated by ASUO, appointed by UO Committee on Committees. Recused from reviewing applications from their peer group.

Committee on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence

  • 2 positions: one graduate and one undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Appointed by the ASUO.

Continuous Improvement and Evaluation of Teaching Committee

  • 2 positions: one graduate and one undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Undergraduate position: Chosen in consultation with the ASUO, appointed by Committee on Committees.
    • Graduate position: Chosen in consultation with the GSA and the GTFF, appointed by Committee on Committees.

Core Education Council

  • 3 positions: two undergraduate and one graduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Undergraduate position: Chosen in consultation with the ASUO, appointed by Committee on Committees.
    • Graduate position: Chosen in consultation with the GSA and the GTFF, appointed by Committee on Committees.

Distinguished Teaching Awards Committee

  • 1 position: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Appointed by the provost.

Graduate Council

  • 2 positions: one master's student and one doctoral student
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Chosen by Graduate School.

Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee

  • 3 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • One position appointed by the ASUO.
    • One position appointed by the UO President.
    • One position filled by a varsity student-athlete selected by Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Library Committee

  • 2 positions: one graduate and one undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Nominated by ASUO, appointed by Committee on Committees.

ROTC Advisory Committee

  • 2 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:

Scholastic Review Committee

Senate Executive Committee

  • 2 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • One position is an ASUO Student Senator
    • One position is the ASUO President or designee

Student Conduct Advisory Committee

  • 4 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
  • Appointed by UO President
    • One position must be a law or graduate student.

Study Abroad Programs Committee

  • 2 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Nominated by ASUO, appointed by UO Committee on Committees.

Undergraduate Council

  • 4 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Nominated by ASUO, appointed by UO Committee on Committees. No more than 2 from the same school or college.

University Appeals Board

  • 11 positions: graduate or undergraduate
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Recommended by ASUO, appointed by UO President.

University Committee on Sexual Orientation Attraction Gender Identity and Expression

  • 5 positions: one graduate and one undergraduate. Three positions are ExOfficio.
  • Term: 1 - 2 years
  • Details:
    • Undergraduate and graduate positions appointed in consultation with ASUO, appointed by Committee on Committees.
    • One ExOfficio Outlaws Student Representative appointed by Outlaws
    • One ExOfficio LGBTQA3 Student Representative appointed by LGBTQA3
